In fact, our waterfront hotel in The Hamptons can be reached by car, rail, luxury motor coach, boat, plane, and even helicopter.

BY TRAIN
Why wait in traffic when the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will bring you directly to the train station built for the original Montauk Yacht Club members? With schedules on weekdays and weekends, you can always opt for a train to make traveling to Montauk comfortable and convenient, while saving money in fuel. One of the most popular rail options available is “The Cannonball" - the premier express train service offered by LIRR. The Cannonball is one of the few trains that offer Hamptons Reserve Service, inviting riders to enjoy a smooth ride in a reserved seat. 

MYC will make all the necessary arrangements to pick you up from the train station in our complimentary shuttle, available exclusively for MYC guests and at your service for your entire stay.

For those who prefer traveling by limo service, Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina will schedule your door to door pick up for your convenience. MYC’s recommended vendors include, East End Limousine and Twin Forks Limousine.

BY MOTORCOACH
Hampton Jitney and Hampton Luxury Liner are professional motor coach transportation companies that offer service from the metropolitan New York area to Montauk. This service can be chartered for groups as well as special events. 

BY FERRY
Viking Ferries offers traditional and high speed seasonal ferry options to and from Montauk, Block Island, Martha's Vineyard and New London, CT. Travelers visiting from Connecticut may also take advantage of the Cross Sound Ferry from New London to Orient Point - crossing over Shelter Island North Ferry and South Ferry via Rt. 114 to Rt. 27 East (Montauk Highway).

BY CAR
From New York City

  • Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) East to Exit 70
  • Take Exit 70 (Route 111 - Manorville) South to Route 27 East towards Montauk
  • Stay on Route 27 East through The Hamptons through the village of Montauk
  • Remain on Route 27 to West Lake Drive (CR 77), which is 1.4 miles past the center of town
  • Watch for Montauk Harbor sign and brown sign for Montauk Downs State Park
  • Turn Left onto West Lake Drive - CR 77
  • Travel 1.8 miles to Star Island Road. Watch for 30 m.p.h. speed limit sign with U.S. Coast Guard emblem at the base of the sign
  • Turn Right onto Star Island Road
  • Follow Star Island Road, past Snug Harbor Motel/Marina to Montauk Yacht Club.

 

From Northern New Jersey or Upstate New York

  • Take the George Washington Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway eastbound.
  • Follow the Cross Bronx Expressway to the Throgs Neck Bridge.
  • Cross the Throgs Neck Bridge into Queens to the Clearview Expressway
  • Take Clearview to LI Expressway (I-495) towards eastern LI and proceed as above

 

From Staten Island, Central, or Southern New Jersey

  • Take Goethals Bridge or Outerbridge from New Jersey to Staten Island
  • Follow the Staten Island Expressway to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn
  • From the bridge, connect with the Belt Parkway eastbound, past JFK Airport to the Southern State (SO) Parkway eastbound.
  • Continue on Southern State to Exit 44E - Route 27 (Montauk) and proceed as above

 

BY PLANE
If you are traveling by air, the closest major airports to the resort are: LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK), and Islip Mac Arthur (ISP) where car rental and public transportation options are available. Private plane service can also be arranged through the East Hampton Airport (HTO) at 631.537.1130 or the Montauk Airport (MTP) at 631.668.3738.

Driving Directions from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK):

  • Follow Signs for AIRPORT EXIT/OTHER TERMINALS
  • Stay STRAIGHT to go onto JFK EXPY
  • Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp
  • Merge onto BELT PKWY E
  • Take CROSS ISLAND PKWY N toward WHITESTONE BR.
  • Merge onto I-495 E/LONG ISLAND EXPY via EXIT 30E toward EASTERN LONG IS.
  • Stay East on Long Island Expressway until Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville) Take Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville) South to Sunrise/Montauk Highway (Route 27)
  • Take Route 27 East following signs for Montauk You will pass through Southampton until you get to a T (BMW Dealer on Left)
  • Make a Left at the T following the signs for Route 27 East You will pass through the towns - Watermill, Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Amagansett After Amagansett continue on 27 East the whole way (Napeague Stretch) passing through the Hamlet of Montauk Remain on Route 27 to West Lake Drive (CR 77), which is 1.4 miles past the center of town. Watch for signs to Montauk Harbor and for Montauk Downs State Park Turn Left onto West Lake Drive - CR 77
  • Travel 1.8 miles to Star Island Road. Watch for 30 mph speed limit sign with U.S. Coast Guard emblem at the base of the sign

  • Turn Right onto Star Island Road

  • Take Airport Exit Ramp
  • Merge onto GRAND CENTRAL PKWY E toward EASTERN LONG IS.
  • Take the LONG IS EXPWY/I-495 exit, EXIT 10W-E, toward MANHATTAN/EASTERN LONG IS.
  • Take the I-495 E exit, EXIT 10E, on the LEFT toward EASTERN LONG IS/RIVERHEAD
  • Merge onto I-495 E/LONG ISLAND EXPY via the exit on the LEFT
  • Stay East on Long Island Expressway until Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville) Take Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville) South to Sunrise/Montauk Highway (Route 27)
  • Take Route 27 East following signs for Montauk You will pass through Southampton until you get to a T (Patios.com on Left)
  • Make a Left at the T following the signs for Route 27 East You will pass through the towns - Watermill, Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Amagansett After Amagansett continue on 27 East the whole way (Napeague Stretch) passing through the Hamlet of Montauk. Driving Directions from Newark International Airport (EWR):

  • Follow Signs for I-78 E toward I-95/NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE/US-1 & 9 N Follow Signs for New York City - Holland Tunnel
  • Take Holland Tunnel - Crossing (under the Hudson River) from NJ into NY/Manhattan
  • When you exit the Tunnel - Take EXIT 1 toward RT-9A/WEST ST
  • Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto LAIGHT ST Turn LEFT onto NY-9A S/WEST ST/WEST SIDE HWY.
  • Continue to follow WEST ST/WEST SIDE HWY - South Head South on West Side Highway (Driving Around the Tip of Manhattan) until you see signs for the FDR Drive North
  • Take FDR North and follow signs for the Brooklyn Bridge Take the Brooklyn Bridge - Crossing the East River - follow the signs for the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) - East
  • Follow BQE - East until you see signs for the Long Island Express Way (LIE/I-495)
  • Take the I-495/L I EXPWY exit, EXIT 35, toward MIDTOWN TUN/EASTERN L I/48 ST
  • Merge onto I-495 E via EXIT 35E toward EASTERN LONG ISLAND
  • Stay East on Long Island Expressway until Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville)
  • Take Exit 70 (Rt. 111-Manorville) South to Sunrise/Montauk Highway (Route 27)
